Dr. Alan N. Kohn


  Alan N. Kohn, M.D. has been performing laser refractive surgery (LASIK) since it was approved by the FDA in 1996.  He currently serves as Chief of Ophthalmology at St. Mary's Hospital and is a past president of the Palm Beach County Ophthalmologic Society.  He has participated in ophthalmic teaching and surgical missions to Guyana, Bolivia, Panama and China, and has published numerous scientific papers on ophthalmic surgery.  His educational background includes BS and MS degrees in Engineering and Applied Physics from Cornell University.  Dr. Kohn received his MD degree from Washington University in St. Louis and served a research externship in the Cornea Department of the Retinal Foundation in Boston.  He completed his residency in ophthalmology at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in New York, where he also served as Chief Resident and Glaucoma Fellow.
